Have you got caught in a sudden downpour in Tokyo?

I think that we have sudden downpours in summer more often every year.
We didn't have it this frequently before.
It's because of the global warming, they say.

Even if it's sunny, you can always have sudden downpour in summer in Tokyo.
Grey clouds covers the sky so quick and suddenly you get caught in a heavy rain showers.
And it sometimes goes away in 10 minutes or so.

It occurs when it's hot and humid.
And, it's so difficult to predict this sort of rain with weather forecast.

But, there are some signs you can feel before it comes.

The most typical sign is the cool breeze right before the sky turns into grey.
If you feel a cool breeze while it's hot and humid, it's very possible that there will be a sudden downpour in 5 minutes or so.

It might be difficult to recognize the "cool breeze" as a sign, but you should feel something different in the breeze.

And if you see the grey clouds like the ones in the photos, you should go inside as soon as possible.

This sort of rain stops in short period of time, so you don't need to buy an umbrella if you have time.
You just need to wait inside until it stops.

But, you must not go close to any river when raining because you never know what's going to happen.

In summer it gets even more humid after rain without cooling the temperature.

Again, cool breeze while hot and humid is the sign for the sudden downpour.
Be ready for the sudden downpour and enjoy Tokyo summer.
The worst period is almost over.
